Commandments

Commandments of Lifting

  1. Stay humble. Check your ego at the door. If you’re not failing often, you’re not trying hard enough.
  2. Remain consistent in effort and intensity. Half-ass efforts yield half-ass results. Challenge your limits.
  3. Never ignore basic, compound lifts: Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press, Pull Ups.
  4. Proper nutrition and diet is key to success. Stay hydrated during training.
  5. Proper rest and sleep is key to muscle growth.
  6. Always lift heavy.
  7. Always warm-up before exercising and stretch after exercising.
  8. Never skip cardio.
  9. Focus on proper form (quality) vs quantity of reps
  10. Never quit. Never say “I can’t”. Always be hungry, motivated, and mentally focused.
  11. Vary exercises and routines often. Never get complacent or let your workouts become stagnant.
  12. Keep a log of your progress.
  13. Motivate, support, encourage, and respect others.
  14. Never be afraid to ask others for a spot.
  15. Always re-rack equipment and weights after use.
  16. Ignore the scale. Measure your success by how you look and feel.
